Our company

Crossbow Productions is the theatre company formed in New York by Australians Christian Heim and Caroline Beck. Originally producing experimental works, Crossbow now concentrates on a fresh approach to biographical and historical plays, and plays that focus on social issues.

We aim to add to the growing Brisbane theatre landscape by producing uplifting works which entertain, intrigue and challenge. All aspects of a Crossbow production are live and each performance is a unique theatrical experience. Music is a feature and juxtapositions with other art forms are often made. Symposia, held after select performances, invite the audience to contribute to the meaning-making process.

Crossbow's first Brisbane production, Anne of the Thousand Days at the Powerhouse, met with critical approval.
